BSC 3270 (CNS 6-10100) is a bisynchronous (BSC), half-duplex,multipoint protocol used by the IBM 3270 data display system. It providescentralized wide-area communications for workstations and computersconnected by an Ethernet LAN.BSC 3270 provides communications for financial, broker, and news networksusing the IBM 3270 protocol for data transmission.Simpact's BSC 3270 executes on the Simpact CNS 6 Series communicationsserver, which is a programmable communications server that attaches to anEthernet LAN, and provides communications for all workstations andcomputers attached by the LAN. Since the communications processing isdone onboard the Simpact communications server, the main system processoris left with maximum resource availability to run other criticalcomputing processes.
